Classic Transportation

I've been getting quite a bit of Waco flying in lately, but mostly as a form of transportation rather than just going to fly-ins and get-togethers.  I've been doing a lot of aircraft certification inspections lately, mostly in the ELSA category, and when possible I've been flying the Waco to these inspections.  This has allowed me to visit a few places that I wouldn't otherwise have the need to go.

For example, this picture shows the Waco sitting at the airport in Elroy, WI.

I've flown over Elroy airport many times over the years, but never had a reason to stop there.  Now I can say I've been there!

The flight to Elroy is also notable because on that flight I clicked the Hobbs meter over to 180 hours, which is exactly double the time shown when I purchased the airplane just 13 months ago.  It took 6 years since the restoration to get the first 90 hours on the Hobbs, and just 13 months for me to double the time!  Not bad!!

As of today there's a little over 185 hours on the Hobbs, and I should be able to add quite a few more if the weather cooperates.  Blakesburg and Brodhead are to good opportunities, plus flying to inspections and other local gatherings.  And of course just giving rides.  Lots of flying to do before putting her away for the winter!
